Santo Domingo – Gigantes del Cibao outfielder Johan Rojas has issued a public apology to the Tigres del Licey and their fans through a video posted on his social media. The controversy arose from an Instagram story that generated negative reactions.

The controversy erupted after Rojas shared a story with a message that was interpreted as a mockery following Licey’s elimination from the Round Robin of the Dominican winter baseball tournament. This sparked criticism on social media.

“I am making this video to apologize to the organization of the Tigres del Licey, an organization that gave me the opportunity to draft me in 2021 and to play winter baseball,” Rojas expressed.
