Baní, Peravia – The Municipal Stadium of Baní was the epicenter of an outstanding regional baseball clinic, designed for young talents between 8 and 10 years old. This training event brought together 230 children from various provinces, including Pedernales, Barahona, Independencia, Bahoruco, Azua, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, San Juan, Elías Piña and Peravia. This initiative, the first of four similar ones scheduled in different regions of the country, was organized by the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), the management of the Dominican team heading to the World Baseball Classic, and Major League Baseball (MLB). The main objective is to positively impact new generations, instilling values, discipline, and the essential fundamentals of the game. The clinic, which took place at the Luis María Herrera stadium under the southern sun, was attended by important figures from the sports world, leaders and legends of baseball. These experts shared their experiences and knowledge with the young players of the region. During the day, the children participated in various technical stations, game dynamics and an exciting Home Run Derby, all in an environment of learning, motivation and healthy coexistence. The event was led by personalities such as Juan Núñez, president of the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOBE); Kelvin Cruz, Minister of Sports; Nelson Cruz, the general manager of the Dominican team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic; Miguel Matos, director of the MLB office in the Dominican Republic; and Henry González, director of International Operations for MLB.
