Ramón Acosta Graveley, secretary general of the Federation, recalled that the country had not organized an event of this level since 2015. “We have a lot of faith that our athletes can perform in this championship,” said Acosta. Ricardo Mootuig, technical director of the Federation, highlighted the importance of hosting this event. “It helps us a lot,” he said. “Years ago we had this event and those athletes, today, are the Central American and Pan American medalists of the Dominican Republic,” he pointed out. “We hope that those of now will also be the next protagonists of international events,” Fernández highlighted.“We want the country to continue shining in events like this, with the presence of those 18 countries it is a way of doing sports tourism,” added De la Mota.
