Punta Cana – The final of the Dominican Republic Open Copa Cap Cana, belonging to the ATP Challenger 175 category, experienced a temporary suspension due to the high temperatures recorded during the day.
The match, which pitted Italian Mattia Bellucci against Argentinian Mariano Navone, was preemptively stopped by the referee and the tournament organizers. The main concern is the health of the players, who were playing an intense match in front of a large audience.
This pause gave both tennis players the opportunity to receive medical attention and recover from the stifling weather before resuming the game. Up to the moment of the interruption, the final was characterized by a high level of competition, with Bellucci and Navone fighting for every point in search of the title.
It is expected that the match will resume once the weather conditions are more favorable, allowing the game to continue normally.
