The Dominican Baseball Selection is already at home!
Santo Domingo, RD. – The national baseball team, which will represent the Dominican Republic in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, has landed on Dominican soil this Monday afternoon.
The team arrived at Las Américas International Airport on a private flight, receiving a warm welcome from fans and sports authorities.
The tricolor squad will begin its preparation program immediately and has scheduled its first practice at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium this Monday at 4:00 in the afternoon. Access will be allowed for between 4,000 and 5,000 fans so they can support the players and enjoy the atmosphere before the tournament.
The Dominican team is full of Major League stars, including Juan Soto, Julio Rodríguez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Carlos Santana, Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo, among other figures who will wear the national jersey with the aim of bringing the world championship home.
The pitching staff also boasts top-tier talent, led by Sandy Alcántara, Luis Severino, Brayan Bello, Carlos Estévez, Camilo Doval, and Abner Uribe, a group that strengthens the team’s aspirations in the competition.
As part of their preparation, the Dominican Republic will play two exhibition games against the Detroit Tigers. The first will be this Tuesday at 7:05 PM and the second on Wednesday at 3:05 PM, both at the Quisqueya Stadium.
The team’s arrival has ignited the passion for baseball throughout the country, with fans dreaming of repeating the feat of 2013 and winning the World Baseball Classic title.
