RD Dominates at Pan American Ultimate 2025: Gold and Bronze for the National Team

The Dominican Republic shone at the 2025 Pan American Ultimate Championship, held at the Polo Fields of Cap Cana from December 1st to 6th, demonstrating its dominance in this high-competition sport. The Caribbean country won the gold medal in the Open division and obtained the bronze in the Mixed division, consolidating its position in the international Ultimate Frisbee scene. The tournament, which featured the participation of 59 teams and 1,166 athletes from 12 countries, highlighted the growing boom of Ultimate in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Dominican Domain in the Open Category

The Dominican team Blue Devils was crowned champion in the Open category, obtaining their second consecutive Pan American title. Alex Machado was a key figure in the final, with 5 goals and 2 assists, backed by the solid defense led by Fidel and Georgie Echavarría.

Fidel Echavarría and Luis Pérez won their third Pan American medal, demonstrating their consistency and trajectory in the sport. This victory secured Blue Devils’ qualification for the 2026 Club World Cup, which will be held in Limerick, Ireland.

Meclao UC Wins Bronze in Mixed

In the Mixed division, the Meclao UC team won the bronze medal, marking a milestone by being the first Dominican team to reach the podium in this category at a Pan American Games. Danilo Balaguer, with 16 goals and 10 assists, and Chabeli Luna, with 15 goals and 6 assists, were outstanding figures in the team. The Santiago mixed team also had an outstanding participation, finishing in tenth position. Anderson Pérez stood out by leading the Mixed division with 38 assists and 3 goals.

Dominican Republic: Venue of Prestige

The Pan American Games featured the participation of delegations from Argentina, Canada, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, United States, Uruguay, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Venezuela. This was the seventh edition of the championship and the second time the Dominican Republic hosted, strengthening its role in the development of Ultimate in the region. In addition to the sporting impact, the event boosted tourism and the visibility of the sport in the country.
