Quisqueya Stadium: Playing Field Ready for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games
Santo Domingo – The Patronato for the Administration of the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium has assured that the playing field will be in optimal conditions for the baseball tournament of the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, despite the holding of artistic events in the venue. This guarantee was issued after a working meeting attended by representatives of the Organizing Committee, the Ministry of Sports, the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League, and the National Baseball Commissioner’s Office. The board of trustees presented a detailed maintenance plan to ensure that the grounds meet the standards required for an event of this magnitude.After a technical evaluation, it was determined that the damages in an area of the land amount to 3 million 600 thousand pesos. This cost will be covered by the promoters of the artistic event, as stipulated in the rental agreement. The board specified that the areas of the stadium that were recently remodeled are in perfect condition. Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, Franklin de la Mota, Miguel Guerra, and Federico González, along with other sector representatives, were present at the meeting. With these actions, the authorities seek to ensure that the main stage of Dominican baseball is ready to successfully host the Santo Domingo 2026 competitions.The President of the Organizing Committee, José Monegro, expressed his satisfaction with the proposed measures.
