Caribbean Series 2026: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Mexico will not participate

The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) announced that the leagues of Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Mexico will not be able to attend the 2026 Caribbean Series, which will be held in Venezuela from February 1 to 7. The decision was formally communicated during an Extraordinary General Assembly, arguing external situations beyond its control. The CBPC received the communication within a framework of institutional respect and in accordance with the Confederation’s internal procedures. The CBPC also recognized the position of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), which has confirmed it is ready to organize the event. The Confederation, in conjunction with its member leagues, has valued the work of the LVBP and its Organizing Committee, as well as the efforts made in the planning of the 2026 Caribbean Series. The CBPC is responsibly evaluating the available alternatives and will keep fans and the media informed about any decisions that are made.
