Recognized Baseball Figures in Puerto Plata
Puerto Plata was the scene of an emotional recognition of outstanding Dominican and Puerto Rican baseball players, both active and retired from Major League Baseball. The ceremony, organized by the Puerto Plata International Sport Foundation, celebrated the fifth edition of its baseball clinic for children, honoring the legacy, trajectory, and continuous support of these figures to the sport and the community. More than 500 children from different baseball leagues in the province participated in specialized clinics and received sports equipment donated by the foundation. During the day, a posthumous tribute was paid to Octavio Dotel, promoter of the initiative, with the presentation of a commemorative painting that will be delivered to his family. Frank Alameda highlighted the importance of continuing with this type of event, focused on promoting sports and offering growth opportunities to young people.“This is the fifth installment of an activity that has already become an annual tradition, where professional baseball players share their experiences and knowledge, inspiring many young people from Puerto Plata who dream of reaching professional baseball,” expressed Chito Polo.
