George Arzeno Brugal from Puerto Plata Crowned at National School Marching Festival
The George Arzeno Brugal Educational Center, representing Regional 11, has reaffirmed its dominance by winning the championship at the 2025 National Elementary School Marching Festival. The event, organized by the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), took place this Friday at the Union Panamericana High School. The competition featured the participation of 493 students from 17 school districts, who demonstrated their skills in discipline, coordination, and team spirit through the school march. The students from Puerto Plata displayed firmness, security, and impeccable synchronization, which secured them first place. Second place went to the Pontezuela Abajo center, from Santiago (Regional 08), and the Ercilia Pepín School, from San Cristóbal (Regional 04), took third place.Alberto Rodríguez Mella, executive director of INEFI, congratulated the winning educational centers and encouraged students to continue participating in this recreational modality. He thanked the support of President Luis Abinader, highlighting the importance of these initiatives for students. The main objective of the festival is to foster the comprehensive development of boys and girls, promoting integration, coexistence, and values such as respect, cooperation, and camaraderie through playful and formative experiences. Rodríguez Mella highlighted the work of physical education teachers and emphasized the school march as an ideal platform to promote patriotic values, discipline, and a sense of national identity.These events remain in the memory of each student forever
