Pharaohs 2004 Christmas Cup Champions Lisoa 2025: Military Softball Dominoes

Santo Domingo – The Faraones 2004 promotion won the championship of the II Christmas Cup Tournament 2025 by defeating the Príncipes 2014 promotion 9-8. The event, organized by the Softball League of Academic Officers of the Armed Forces and the National Police (Lisoa), took place at the Primer Teniente Hipólito Ureña stadium of the Dominican Republic Air Force. Darwin Mateo Montero shone on the mound, being key in the victory of the Pharaohs. The offense of the champion team counted on the contribution of Henry Naut, who was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the final series, along with Kelvin Dominici, Junior Medina, Wilkin Castro and Franklin Feble. Francisco Cotes took the loss. The honorary launch was in charge of the journalist José Pio Santana, received by Lieutenant Colonel PN, Félix Vilches.

Lisoa’s Statements

Lt. Colonel Danny Batista Ozuna (ERD), president of Lisoa, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the league during the closing ceremony, where the trophies were awarded. Batista Ozuna highlighted that the tournament “is the result of collective effort, for which we thank the support provided by the Minister of Defense, the General Commanders of the Armed Forces and the Director General of the National Police.”

This event was not only a sports competition; it was a celebration of teamwork, respect, discipline, and dedication.

Batista Ozuna added that the league’s commitment is “to continue promoting opportunities for our officer-athletes to develop, reach their full potential, and strengthen fellowship among all of us”. The effort of coaches, leaders, and members of the organizing committee was recognized, who have been fundamental in establishing a solid and professional structure, in accordance with the sports standards promoted by Lisoa. Batista Ozuna also highlighted the participation of the promotions Survivors 2006, Moperipas 2008, Warriors 2009, Trabucos 2012, Veterans 2017, Sharks 2018, Hierarchs 2020, Vikings 2022 and The Unstoppables 2023, who, along with the champion and runner-up, starred in exciting and competitive matches. Finally, it was announced that the organizing committee is already working on the next Lisoa tournament, which every year brings together teams from the 2001 promotion onwards, competing for the Gran Copa Rotativa ‘Military and Police Brotherhood’.
