Geraldo Perdomo leads the cleanup at Cibao Stadium after incident

Santiago – Dominican shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, along with several players from the Águilas Cibaeñas, starred in an exemplary act of civility and responsibility at the Cibao Stadium. After an incident caused by objects being thrown onto the field, Perdomo and his teammates joined together to clean the field. The situation was triggered after a referee’s decision that generated controversy among the fans. The sanction of a play for obstruction caused the angry reaction of a sector of the public, who threw bottles, glasses and other objects onto the field. This forced a temporary interruption of the meeting. Faced with this situation, Perdomo and his colleagues decided to take the initiative and collaborate in cleaning the field. This action was received as a message of calm and respect towards the game, the authorities, and the fans. This gesture highlights the values of sportsmanship, leadership, and social awareness promoted by Dominican professional baseball.
