Jeremy Peña Suffers Fracture and Misses the World Baseball Classic
Santo Domingo – Dominican shortstop Jeremy Peña was diagnosed with a fracture in the tip of the ring finger of his right hand, according to the Houston Astros. This injury will keep him out of the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
The Astros’ medical team will re-evaluate the player in two weeks to determine the evolution of the injury. The estimated recovery time could be four to six weeks, preventing him from participating in the international tournament.
Peña’s absence is a hard blow for the Dominican Republic national team, which is preparing for the tournament that brings together the main powers of world baseball.
