Santo Domingo – The ninth edition of the Women’s National Basketball League (LNBF) was formally inaugurated at the sports complex of the San Carlos Club, with the presence of the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, and the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz.
The ceremony was dedicated to Vice President Peña, who expressed her commitment to continue supporting women’s sports, highlighting the positive impact of the initiatives led by Minister Cruz.

Minister Cruz announced significant financial support from the Ministry of Sports (Miderec) for the event, with an investment of two million pesos (RD$ 2,000,000).

Cruz also emphasized Miderec’s continued support for this type of initiative.
The LNBF, in its ninth edition, will feature the participation of six teams, divided into two groups.
- Group A: Reynas del Este (current champions), Calero de Villa Duarte and Las Leñeras de Los Mina.
- Group B: Las Murallas de San Lázaro, Olímpicas de La Vega and Las Hidalgas de Santiago.
