Dominican Republic Athletics Team Ready for the World Championships
TOKYO, JAPAN – The Dominican Republic Athletics Team, led by Marileidy Paulino, finished their training for the World Championships. The event, which will begin this Friday, will bring together the most outstanding stars of world athletics. Engineer Alexis Peguero, president of the Dominican Athletics Federation, confirmed the information from Japan, where he is accompanying the national team. Alongside Paulino, Olympic medalists Lidio Feliz and Alexander Ogando will be competing, as well as Liranyi Alonzo, who will debut in the 200 meters.Marileidy Paulino, world and Olympic champion, will seek her second consecutive gold medal in the 400-meter dash. If she succeeds, she would join the Australian Cathy Freeman in the select group of athletes who have repeated the title in this discipline.
