Ortiz, Beltré, and Martínez: Dominican Legends in World Baseball Classic Pitching

1 Min Read

Miami was the setting for an emotional encounter between three Dominican baseball legends, who starred in an unforgettable moment prior to the crucial quarter-final game of the World Baseball Classic between the Dominican Republic and South Korea at loanDepot park.

David Ortiz, Adrián Beltré, and Pedro Martínez, enshrined legends in the Hall of Fame, were in charge of making the ceremonial pitch, unleashing the euphoria and fervor of the Dominican fans present in the stadium.

This significant act is framed within the constant support that emblematic figures of Dominican baseball have provided to the selection throughout the tournament.

Previously, Juan Marichal, also a Hall of Fame member, had the honor of participating in the ceremonial first pitch at another game of the Quisqueya team.

With these outstanding participations, there are now four of the five Dominicans belonging to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame who have played a leading role in the protocol acts of the recent national team matches. The only one who has not yet participated in the ceremonial launch is Vladimir Guerrero.
