David Adelman, Nuggets Coach, Fined by the NBA
The NBA has announced a financial sanction for Denver Nuggets coach David Adelman. The fine, worth $35,000, is due to his behavior during Sunday’s game.
According to the league’s official statement, Adelman used “inappropriate language” directed at the referees. In addition, he was penalized for not leaving the court immediately after being ejected.
Adelman’s ejection occurred in the final quarter of the game between the Nuggets and the Houston Rockets, played in Denver. The coach received a second technical foul after protesting a referee’s decision involving Nikola Jokic.
This was Adelman’s first ejection in the NBA, who took the reins of the Nuggets last season.
The game ended with the Rockets’ victory by a score of 101-115, ending the Nuggets’ six-game winning streak. The Rockets thus achieved revenge after the defeat suffered against the Nuggets in Denver five days earlier.
Previously, Rockets coach Ime Udoka was also fined $25,000 for complaints directed at the referees in the same game.
