National Police promotes children’s sports in Las Matas de Farfán with institutional support

Las Matas de Farfán – The National Police organized a children’s sports day in this municipality, led by Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, as part of its commitment to the integral development of Dominican children and youth. This activity, which included 1K and 2K children’s races, and the delivery of sports equipment to local clubs and leagues, was supported by the Ministry of Sports, INEFI and the Dominican Olympic Committee, represented by its president Garibaldy Bautista, also leader of the Dominican Softball Federation.

Institutional Support and Awards for Children

During the day, a complete set of equipment was delivered to the women’s softball league of Las Matas de Farfán, recognized as one of the most outstanding in the country by the corresponding federation. In addition, sports implements donated by the football, chess, volleyball, and basketball federations were distributed, as well as by Cristóbal Marte, president of NORCECA, on behalf of the national women’s volleyball team, “Las Reinas del Caribe”. Major League Baseball organizations such as the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros also joined the initiative, reinforcing their commitment to sports development in vulnerable communities in the country.

Kids Race Winners

Young athletes Jafiel Lebrón, Nashla Fernanda Alcántara, Mayeline Lebrón and Nikaulis Aybar, aged between 10 and 11, were the winners of the children’s competitions and received awards from Major General Guzmán Peralta and his wife, Ingrid Castro, president of the Association of Wives of National Police Officers (ASEOPNA).

“We continue to sow hope through sports, with the support of allied institutions and the backing of our Director General,” expressed General Jacobo Mateo Moquete, director of Sports of the National Police.
