National Independence Cycling Tour: 144 Cyclists Ready for Action
SANTO DOMINGO – The 47th edition of the Vuelta Ciclística Independencia Nacional is about to begin. Next Tuesday, the 24th, a total of 144 cyclists from 24 national and international teams will meet to compete in this prestigious race. The Dominican Cycling Federation, led by Jorge Blas Díaz, is in charge of organizing this large-scale event. Andrés Bautista, administrative minister of the presidency, serves as president of the Organizing Committee. During the press conference held in the James Rodríguez Hall of the Ministry of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, Minister of Sports, along with Bautista and Blas Díaz, offered details about the competition.Bautista highlighted the support of President Luis Abinader and emphasized the importance of sports for society. Blas Díaz recognized the work of the previous presidents of the Dominican Cycling Federation, who have kept the Vuelta Independencia alive. The competition will consist of six stages and will feature the participation of 10 national and 14 foreign teams. Among those present at the event were Garibaldi Bautista, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, José Bautista, former president of Fedoci, and Fernando Geraldino, executive of the Seaboard company, along with other Fedoci executives and former Ministers of Sports. The fair is supported by the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency, the Ministry of Sports, Banreservas, Seaboard, and Economic Dining Halls. Also collaborating are the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works, System 911, Digesset, Politur, and the Dominican Olympic Committee.“This event is of great value because it has managed to endure and captures the attention of the Dominican people every year,” Cruz stated.
