Modern Pentathlon Fine-Tunes Details for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games
LA VEGA, RD – The Modern Pentathlon national team carried out its second selective control and evaluation of athletes, both in the men’s and women’s divisions. The main objective is to prepare the competitors for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. The event took place at the La Vega Sports Complex, under the direction of national coach Kenny Núñez Veras and José Pérez, president of the Modern Pentathlon Association of Santo Domingo and La Vega.Selective Control Results
In the men’s category, the athletes who stood out were José Ozoria, Yeraldo Debora, and Brayan Almonte. In the women’s division, the best were Brandy Benjamín, Naomi Madé, and Isauri Rodríguez.Núñez Veras and Pérez expressed their recognition to José Luis Bautista, executive director of the Dominican Sports Hostel (Alodom), highlighting the importance of this place for the rest of high-performance athletes. Miguel Adames, provincial director of Sports of the Ministry of Sports, highlighted La Vega’s satisfaction as the host of this sporting event. In the first control, carried out the previous month, the selected athletes were Gabriel Domínguez, José Ozoria and Brayan Almonte in the men’s category, and Karina Fermín, Ana Leidys Arias and Brandy Benjamín in the women’s category. These athletes will join those from the second control for future international commitments. The selected athletes will participate in various international events, including the Fourth National Open in Ecuador, a training base in Quito, the Pan American Qualifier Lima 2027 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Bolivarian Games 2025.
