Agonizing Tie at Moca 85: MOCA FC and Atlético Pantoja Share Honors
In a match full of emotions and goals, MOCA FC and Atlético Pantoja tied 2-2 in the eighth matchday of the Liguilla of the Dominican Republic Football League, held at the Moca 85 stadium.
The match, played at a frenetic pace, kept the fans on the edge of their seats from the initial whistle.
MOCA FC took the lead in the score at minute 31 thanks to an excellent collective play that culminated in a goal by Oliver Durán, after an assist from Yohan Parra. The 1-0 put the team led by Jorge Alfonso in advantage.
The local joy was short-lived, as a minute later, Carlos Sarante equalized the score for Atlético Pantoja, maintaining the tie on the scoreboard.
Before the break, MOCA FC was close to scoring again, but a powerful shot by Jhonny Parima hit the crossbar, saving the goal defended by Alexandro Baroni.
In the second half, MOCA FC took the lead again in the 60th minute, when Rauly Martinez headed in a goal that made it 2-1, unleashing the euphoria of the home fans.
However, in added time (90+1’), Fabricio Moreno took advantage of a loose ball inside the area to score the definitive 2-2, sealing the tie.
The next challenge for MOCA FC will be on Saturday, March 7, when they face Delfines at Parque del Este, in the ninth matchday of the LDF.
