Santo Domingo.- In a highly significant event held at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, Yerik Pérez, president of the Dominican Association of Sports Tourism (ADOTURD), met with Rob Manfred, Commissioner of Major League Baseball, and Ricardo de los Santos, president of the Senate of the Republic. The meeting highlighted the strategic importance of these events for the Dominican Republic, emphasizing their impact on the sports field and their role as an economic driver. The generation of jobs, the strengthening of the hotel sector, the activation of commerce, and the international projection of the country were underlined. ADOTURD emphasized the active participation of the Senate President, Ricardo de los Santos, as a demonstration of the Legislative Power’s commitment to sports tourism. This participation reflects institutional support and the State’s vision for public policies that integrate sports, tourism, infrastructure, and competitiveness.

“Sports tourism is a growing global industry. The articulation between international sports leadership and national legislative leadership strengthens confidence and projects stability to continue attracting major events to the country,” said Yerik Pérez.
