The event, which took place outside the ambassadors’ hall of the airport terminal, was a display of joy and recognition for the young athletes who achieved the feat. Minister Cruz, visibly moved, praised the performance of the national team, highlighting the pride felt by both President Luis Abinader and the Ministry of Sports.

“We are extremely proud of these sports heroes who represented us with dedication and discipline. Winning this crown undefeated is a testament to their effort. I congratulate them and urge them to continue working with the same passion to achieve their goals,” said Cruz.

During the ceremony, the president of the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOBE), Juan Núñez, addressed the recent controversies on social media regarding the age of some players.

“Rest assured, Mr. Minister, the President of the Republic, and all the Dominican people, that each of these young people meets the required age requirements. It was three months of hard work to put together this team, and there should be no doubt about its legality,” Núñez affirmed.
