Miguel Infante School Games Inaugurated in La Romana

La Romana – In a significant event in the context of the Month of the Homeland, the Education Regional 05 of La Romana, in collaboration with the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), officially launched the Miguel Infante School Games. The ceremony was attended by key figures from the province, directors of educational centers, teachers, parents, and a multitude of student athletes. The opening took place in the sports center of the Inmaculada Corazón Educational Center, a Catholic institution with a history of more than five decades in the education of students in the eastern region of the country. The event brought together twenty educational centers and more than five hundred students, who participated in a parade to the rhythm of patriotic marches.

These games pay tribute to Professor Miguel Infante, a renowned physical educator from La Romana, who dedicated his life to the integral formation of children and young people through sports. His family, including his children and widow, were present at the ceremony, expressing their gratitude to the authorities for honoring the legacy of the one who instilled values and a passion for physical education in numerous generations.

“For us, it is a great commitment to sponsor and support these types of initiatives that directly impact our youth. From INEFI, following the guidelines of President Luis Abinader, we continue to work so that every student in the country has access to decent facilities, organized competitions, and trained coaches. These games represent an opportunity to discover talents, but above all to strengthen the integral formation of our youth,” expressed Rodríguez.
