Miguel Guerra Armenteros new president of the Tigres del Licey
This Tuesday, Miguel Guerra Armenteros assumed the presidency of the Tigres del Licey, a team with 24 championships in the Dominican Baseball League.
“Together, we will face new challenges and continue to strive for excellence in every season. We are excited about the future and confident that, united, we will take the Tigres del Licey to new heights,” he said in his acceptance speech.

During his previous administration, between 2013 and 2015, Licey won its 21st championship, in the 2013-14 season. In addition, he became the first grandson of a former president of the Tigres del Licey to reach the presidency.
His grandfather, the engineer Ignacio Guerra Abreu, was president in the periods 1953-54 and 1955-57.
“We look to the future with hope and determination. We are going to work together to continue reaping triumphs and historical feats. This club has a rich tradition and a bright future ahead,” added Guerra Armenteros.

Guerra Armenteros holds a degree in Economics and Political Science, with studies at the University of Pennsylvania, United States. He replaces Dr. Ricardo Ravelo Jana, who was vice president in the last two periods (2021-23 and 2023-25), contributing to the team’s championships in ’23 and ’24.
Currently, he serves as the general director of natural gas in the Dominican Republic. He has worked for three decades in various roles within the Tigres del Licey, starting in the 1994-1995 season. He is married to Yadina Vásquez de Guerra, with whom he has three children: Ignacio Guerra Vásquez, Ivette Cristina Guerra Vásquez, and Michelle Marie Guerra Vásquez, the latter being godmothers of the 23rd and 24th championships, obtained in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.“It is an honor for me to assume the presidency of this glorious organization that has shone for 120 years. The team’s new board of directors is made up of Dr. Domingo Pichardo as vice president, Miguel Ángel Fernández as treasurer, Jaime Alsina as secretary, and Ricardo Ravelo Jana, Rafael Antonio Úbeda Heded, Tancredo Aybar and Federico González Santoni as directors.
