Mexico Shows Offensive Prowess in the World Baseball Classic

Houston – The Mexican Baseball Team displayed its offensive strength this Sunday, defeating Brazil with a score of 16-0 in six innings. The match, corresponding to the 2026 World Baseball Classic, was decided by the knockout rule.

This triumph places Mexico in a prominent position, preparing for one of the most anticipated matches of Group B: the duel against the United States, both teams undefeated in the tournament.

Before an audience of more than 36 thousand fans at Houston’s Daikin Park, the Mexican offense prevailed with 16 hits and consistent scoring throughout the game.

The climax came in the fourth inning, when catcher Alejandro Kirk hit a three-run home run to left-center field, extending the Mexican lead.

In the sixth episode, Julián Ornelas sealed the victory with a two-run home run to right field, activating the run difference rule and ending the game.

The Mexican attack started early, with Jonathan Aranda driving in the first run in the first inning, followed by a double by Kirk. Jarren Duran also stood out with his first home run of the tournament.

Randy Arozarena, a key figure for Mexico in the 2023 Classic, contributed a double and two runs scored.

Each Mexican batter connected at least one hit, while the pitching limited Brazil to only three hits. Brazil is still looking for its first victory in the history of the World Baseball Classic.

The atmosphere in the stadium was predominantly Mexican, with thousands of fans supporting the team.

With the offensive at its best and the support of its fans, Mexico prepares for its next challenge against the United States, which will define the leadership of Group B. ⚽🇲🇽
