Carlos Mendoza Stands Firm Against Pressure in the Mets

NEW YORK – New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza has stated that he has not discussed his continuity in the position with the team’s management, despite the complicated start to the season that the team is going through.

Mendoza explained that communications with David Stearns, president of baseball operations, and Steve Cohen, team owner, are maintained within normal parameters, without touching on the subject of his employment situation. This occurs amidst a negative record of 9-19 for the Mets.

It’s a difficult situation, but part of the business. My job is to keep coming every day and get the best out of my players.

The Venezuelan pilot acknowledged that the recent dismissals of other leaders in the Major Leagues do not go unnoticed, but assured that his focus is on improving the team’s performance.

Mendoza has been focused on managing the numerous injuries the team has suffered, including those of key figures such as Juan Soto, Luis Robert Jr., and Kodai Senga, which has further complicated the situation.

Regarding offensive performance, Mendoza pointed out that urgent adjustments are needed, as the team is among the least productive in the league. He has urged his players to simplify their approach at the plate and return to the basics of offensive play.

Likewise, Mendoza expressed his support for the coaching staff, especially the batting coaches, and took responsibility for the adverse results.

The Mets, affected by injuries and a lack of offensive consistency, seek to improve their performance as pressure mounts on the coaching staff at the start of the Major League season.
