Freddy Peralta misses the 2025 All-Star Game
The Dominican pitcher Freddy Peralta will not be present at the 2025 Major League All-Star Game. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th at Truist Park in Atlanta, will see Peralta absent due to commitments with his team, the Milwaukee Brewers.
The information was confirmed by the Brewers and MLB, who announced that reliever Trevor Megill, also of the Brewers, will take Peralta’s place on the National League roster.
The main reason for Peralta’s absence is that he is scheduled to start Sunday’s game against the Washington Nationals, which prevents him from participating in the prestigious mid-season event.
This is the third Dominican loss confirmed for the event. José Ramírez of the Cleveland Guardians and Jeremy Peña of the Houston Astros were also ruled out for medical reasons.
In contrast, young Junior Caminero, of the Tampa Bay Rays, was announced as a new member of the American League roster and will participate in the 2025 Home Run Derby.
Peralta is having an outstanding season in the Major Leagues. In 105 innings pitched, he has accumulated a 10-4 record, with a notable 2.74 ERA. In addition, he has achieved 111 strikeouts and has given up only 36 walks.
His stats include a WHIP of 1.086, a FIP of 3.68, and an ERA+ of 147. His bWAR of 2.8 confirms his value as one of the most outstanding Dominican starters of the season.
With Peralta’s departure, Randy Rodríguez, a reliever for the San Francisco Giants, is the only Dominican pitcher on the National League roster who could see action in the 2025 All-Star Game.
