Investigation for Bullying: Mbappé vs. Paris Saint-Germain

French justice has initiated an investigation following the complaint filed by Kylian Mbappé, now a Real Madrid player, for moral harassment against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This legal action arises from the tensions generated by the footballer’s decision not to extend his contract. The complaint, filed by Mbappé’s lawyers last month, has resulted in the appointment of two investigating judges tasked with investigating the facts. Judicial sources confirmed this information. The conflict intensified in the 2023/2024 season, when Mbappé communicated his intention not to exercise the optional third year of his contract with PSG. This decision led the club to exclude him from the first team.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi admitted that the measure aimed to pressure the player to renew his contract or leave, thus allowing the club to receive a transfer fee.

For a month, Mbappé trained with the second team before being reinstated to the first team, under the direction of Luis Enrique. This reintegration occurred after an alleged agreement with President Al Khelaifi, a pact that the player denies. The player is claiming from the club the payment of 55 million euros for arrears, a sum that PSG considers linked to that verbal agreement. The case has escalated beyond the sporting instances, and the club expects it to be resolved in labor court. In parallel, Mbappé’s lawyers have announced additional legal actions against the club to claim the payment of arrears. These actions include the lawsuit for having been removed from the first team, a practice that the players’ union has repeatedly denounced. Mbappé joined Real Madrid at the end of the 2023/2024 season, without a transfer fee, which caused controversy with PSG, who retained those 55 million.
