The ‘Madring’ of F1 in Madrid: Completion date of the works

Madrid will host the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix in 2026, and the works of the new semi-urban circuit, known as ‘Madring’, are progressing well. Luis García Abad, General Director of the project, confirmed to Alofoke Deportes that the completion of the works is scheduled for May 30, 2026.

García Abad made these statements during a visit to the works, where a small group of representatives from the media specializing in Formula 1 could see the progress of the circuit.

The new track, which will combine urban and non-urban sectors, is still subject to homologation by the FIA (International Automobile Federation). The circuit is expected to be approximately five and a half kilometers long, specifically 5,470 meters, and will have 22 turns.

One of the highlights of the circuit will be turn number eleven, named ‘La Monumental’. This banked curve is expected to be the longest in the world championship, with 540 meters and a 24 percent inclination.
