Average prices for this Thursday reached $1,956 per ticket, according to data from Victory Live, a company specializing in secondary market transaction analysis.
The matchup, which will be played at the iconic Madison Square Garden, has captured the attention of fans after the Knicks staged two spectacular comebacks in Boston, including a victory after trailing by 20 points. These performances have not only generated excitement in New York, but have also driven ticket prices to unprecedented levels so far this postseason.
For the fourth game, also at the Knicks’ home, the average resale price is $1,716.
The cheapest available ticket for Game 3 was priced at $626 on StubHub this Thursday, while for Game 4 the minimum price was $613 on Vivid Seats.
The data reveals a significant increase in costs, considering that last Friday the average resale price was $767 for the third game and $545 for the fourth.
The Knicks, who haven’t reached the Eastern Conference finals since the year 2000, require only two more victories to achieve it in a best-of-seven series that has generated exceptional interest due to the drama and performance of the New York team.
Power forward Karl-Anthony Towns, one of the outstanding figures of this postseason, enthusiastically celebrated the latest victory over the Celtics, further fueling the passion among the local fans.
