Luperón and Centro Advance in the National District Softball Tournament
The teams from the Luperón and Centro leagues achieved decisive victories and advanced as “Wild Card” in the junior superior category of the softball tournament of leagues of the National District. The National District Softball Association (Asadina) organizes this event, which is dedicated to Jorge Rijo and Rafaelín Franjul, and is played for the Confraternidad 2025 cup. The tournament is co-sponsored by JM. Álvarez, on behalf of the 4Fans balls and the Z-1000 bats, which are the official ones.
In the Don Freddy Vallejo stadium, the Luperón League, representing the North Division, defeated Villa Juana, while the Centro League beat the Flintstones.Match Details
In the first encounter, Luperón defeated Villa Juana with a score of 20-12, thanks to an offense of 13 hits. José Hernández was the winning pitcher, while Jean Carlos Herrera took the loss.
Emmanuel Mateo led Luperón’s offense with two home runs and five RBIs. Juan Carlos Rosario contributed with a triple and a double, adding three RBIs. Wagner Castillo also stood out with a double and a single, driving in five runs. Oscar Batista and Daely Alcántara were other key players for the victory.
The Centro League, for its part, dominated the Flintstones with a resounding score of 15-0, achieving a victory by super knockout. Carlos Matos pitched a great game, allowing only two hits and taking the victory. Heriberto Núñez was the losing pitcher.
Saúl Hernández was the offensive figure of the Central League, connecting three home runs and driving in five runs. Miguel Reyes contributed with two hits and three RBIs.
