Dominican pitcher Luis L. Ortiz of the Cleveland Guardians is on paid non-disciplinary leave while Major League Baseball (MLB) conducts an investigation. Luis L. Ortiz, 26 years old, is in his first season with Cleveland, after being acquired from the Pirates in a trade that involved Spencer Horwitz last December. So far this season, Ortiz has participated in 16 starts, recording an ERA of 4.36, with 96 strikeouts, 42 walks and a WHIP of 1.38 in 88.2 innings pitched.
