SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – Los Prados club secured a crucial victory against Rafael Barias with a score of 84-82, securing their position in the race for one of the three available spots in Group A of the 49 TBS Distrito 2025.
This triumph took place in the continuation of the regular season of the tournament.
Los Prados tied their record at 3-3, similar to that of the Barians, although the latter compete in Group B. The match took place at the Ricardo -Gioriver- Arias Volleyball Palace, official headquarters of the TBS Distrito 2025.
This is the third victory for Los Prados, matching their performance from the 2024 tournament, where they finished with a 3-7 record, under the direction of Carlos Payano, who had previously left the team with a 3-4 record.
In the offensive aspect, three players from Los Prados stood out with double figures in points, led by the Puerto Rican reinforcement Ángel Matías, who scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Kelvin Ramírez contributed 21 points and eight rebounds, while William Cruz, of Dominican-Puerto Rican dual nationality, added 20 points and seven assists.
American reinforcement BJ Fitzgerald added 11 points.
On the part of Rafael Barias, Eusebio Suero scored 21 points, followed by Bryan Ramírez with 16, LJ Figuero with 14 and the San Cristobal reinforcement Jonathan Araujo with 11 points and eight rebounds.
The TBS District 2025 is organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), presided over by Colonel (PN) Diego Pesqueira, and the Organizing Committee is headed by José Ignacio Paliza, Minister of the Presidency.
This year, the tournament is dedicated to Evaristo Pérez, Dominican Sports Immortal and former player of the national basketball team.
The TBS District 2025 will continue this Friday with two exciting matches in the seventh matchday of the intergroup phase, and the 13th overall of the regular season, which consists of a total of 20 matchdays.
At 7:00 PM, the Mauricio Báez and El Millón clubs will face each other, followed by the duel between San Carlos and San Lázaro at 9:00.
