SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – Los Mina club continues its winning streak by adding its third consecutive victory in the X Superior Basketball Tournament of Santo Domingo Province, surpassing the Loros Calientes with a score of 87-67.
After a losing start, the Los Mina team has shown a remarkable recovery, which allows them to lead Group A, tied with the Calero club of Villa Duarte, both with a 3-1 record. On the other hand, Loros Calientes is still looking for their first victory, with a 0-4 record.
The meeting took place at the sports center of the Deportivo Ozama club, in Santo Domingo Este, and is dedicated to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.
Court Domination
Jerry Flores, reinforcement of Los Mina, led the offense with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists. Yasuel Batista contributed a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while José Familia added 13 points. Luis Morillo scored nine points, Bryan Luciano eight points and 13 rebounds, and Andy Aquino another eight.
On behalf of Loros Calientes, Luis Martínez stood out with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Esteban Puello with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and César Reyes with seven points.
Situation in the Groups
In Group B, Los Alcarrizos Caminantes lead with a 3-1 record, followed by Santo Domingo Norte Trenes (2-2) and Santo Domingo Oeste Caobas City (1-3).
The tournament features the participation of six teams: Caminantes de Los Alcarrizos (current champions), Trenes de Santo Domingo Norte (runners-up), Loros Calientes, Leñeros de Los Mina, Calero de Villa Duarte and Caobas City.
The event is organized by a committee led by Ángel De la Cruz, along with William Cabral Lugo, president of the Santo Domingo Basketball Association (Abasado). The technical direction is in charge of Ramón Ceballos and Maikel Rodríguez.
The tournament is supported by the Ministry of Sports, headed by Kelvin Cruz, as well as the company Seaboard “Clean Energy” and Fernando Geraldino.

The action of the TBS Santo Domingo 2026 will continue this Friday with the match between Trenes de Santo Domingo Norte and Caminantes de Los Alcarrizos, starting at 8:00 p.m., at the Crom sports center, in Villa Mella.
