SANTO DOMINGO, RD – Los Caminantes de Los Alcarrizos continue their winning streak in the Santo Domingo province superior basketball tournament, achieving their third consecutive victory by defeating the Loros Calientes with a score of 91-84. This triumph consolidates their position at the top of Group B, demonstrating a solid performance on the court. The match, part of the regular series of the X Superior Basketball Tournament of Santo Domingo Province, took place in the sports center of the Calero club in Villa Duarte, Santo Domingo Este, and is dedicated to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.

In Los Caminantes’ triumph, Luis Manuel López shone with 32 points, followed by Anderson Mirambeaux with 23 points and nine rebounds. Michael Moya contributed 14 points and nine rebounds, while Francisco Mota contributed 11 points and eight rebounds. By the Loros Calientes, Richard Mejía scored 28 points, and Luis Martínez achieved a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Josué Salazar, in his debut, added 15 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Calero Leads Group A

In another exciting match, the Calero club defeated the Trenes with a score of 82-77, solidifying their leadership in Group A. Jeison Rivera led Calero with 25 points, followed by Ronald García with 20. Anferni Acevedo scored 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Calero. In the Trains team, Kelvin Furcal scored 22 points, while Miguel Carmona and Randy Bautista added 17 points each, with nine rebounds each. Juan Santana also contributed with 11 points.

The Organizing Committee of TBS Santo Domingo 2026 is led by Ángel De la Cruz, with William Cabral Lugo (Nemeneme) as president of the Santo Domingo Basketball Association (Abasado). The technical direction is in charge of Ramón Ceballos and Maikel Rodríguez. The tournament is supported by the Ministry of Sports, Minister Kelvin Cruz, the company Seaboard “Clean Energy” and Fernando Geraldino, its Social Responsibility manager.

Upcoming Meetings

The tournament will continue on Friday with a match between the Trains and The Walkers, scheduled for 8:00 PM at the Crom sports complex in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte.
