Gigantes del Cibao and Leones del Escogido Split Honors in Doubleheader

SANTO DOMINGO – Friday’s games in Dominican baseball saw a split of victories between the Leones del Escogido and the Gigantes del Cibao. The second game of the doubleheader, held at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium, culminated in a resounding victory for the Gigantes, who won with a score of 10-2. The Giants, from the start, demonstrated their offensive power. In the first inning, Jordan Díaz hit a two-run home run to left field, establishing an initial lead. The visiting offense continued in the second inning, loading the bases and taking advantage of wild pitches to score runs. The Escogido tried to react in the third episode. Sócrates Brito connected a double and Junior Lake followed with a home run that drove in two runs. However, the Gigantes maintained their offense, adding four runs in the fourth episode and one more in the sixth, sealing the final result. Víctor López took the victory for the Giants, while Henry Sosa took the loss for the Lions.
