Santo Domingo – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) has expressed its recognition of the national team’s performance in the recent World Baseball Classic, highlighting the dedication and commitment of the players who represented the country. The entity emphasized the team’s joint effort, which demonstrated a strong sense of national identity and a palpable connection with the Dominican people, who provided unconditional support throughout the tournament. LIDOM also praised the work of the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), led by Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, whose management was crucial in forming a competitive team. Furthermore, the leadership of general manager Nelson Cruz and manager Albert Pujols was highlighted, who managed to unify a group of elite players with the purpose of worthily representing the Dominican Republic. The league valued the integration of high-level former players and figures from Major League Baseball, who contributed experience, leadership, and a strong sense of belonging to the national team. Likewise, the institutional and media support that accompanied the selection was recognized, as well as the support of President Luis Abinader and ministers Kelvin Cruz and David Collado, along with other entities committed to the development of sport.
