SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) has announced the postponement of the two games scheduled for this Thursday, October 23, 2025. This decision was made due to the indirect consequences of the passage of Tropical Storm Melissa over the national territory.

Affected Parties

The meetings that will be affected are:
  • Gigantes del Cibao vs. Tigres del Licey, which would be played at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium (rescheduled from October 17).
  • Águilas Cibaeñas vs. Estrellas Orientales, scheduled for the Tetelo Vargas stadium in San Pedro de Macorís, corresponding to the game suspended on October 21.
LIDOM took this measure after consulting its meteorological advisor, Jean Suriel. The decision is based on the recommendations of emergency and meteorological authorities, who advise against mass events while adverse weather conditions persist. The league has reaffirmed that the safety of the players, fans, and operational staff is its main concern in the face of these types of situations. The new date for the realization of both meetings will be announced soon.
