Santo Domingo, R.D. – The Technical Directorate of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced on its X platform that the game between Toros del Este and Águilas Cibaeñas, scheduled for the night of Monday, January 19, 2026, corresponds to the previously annulled match by official decision. Through a statement, LIDOM detailed that the game, to be held at the Francisco Micheli stadium in La Romana at 7:30 p.m., is linked to Contentious Resolution No. PL-002-2025-2026, which invalidated the game originally played on January 16. The league emphasized that with this match, both franchises will complete the 18 games of the Round Robin schedule for the 2025-2026 tournament. This encounter is crucial to determine the teams that will advance to the final.

Importance of the Meeting

The sports organization announced that, if the final result of this match generates a tie between both teams in second place of the Round Robin, an additional tie-breaking match will be played, as established in article 19 of the current regulations. This extra game will be held at the stadium of the team that won the particular series in this semifinal phase of the championship.
