Licey reveals starting pitchers rotation for the weekend in winter baseball

SANTO DOMINGO – The Tigres del Licey have revealed their starting rotation for the upcoming games of the 2025-26 autumn-winter baseball championship. The team has defined its star pitchers for the weekend games, seeking to secure crucial victories in the season.

Friday Opener

Right-handed pitcher Albert Abreu (0-4) will take the mound this Friday when the Tigres face the Leones del Escogido at 7:15 PM. This will be his seventh appearance of the season. Abreu leads the Licey pitching staff in innings pitched, with 27.1, and ranks second in strikeouts, with 17.

Saturday: Adonis Medina on the Mound

Adonis Medina (1-1, 2.25) will be the starter against the Gigantes del Cibao on Saturday. The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Julián Javier stadium, in San Francisco de Macorís. This will be Medina’s second start of the season. In nine games, he has pitched 16 innings, allowing four earned runs, with four walks and 14 strikeouts. His opponents are batting .250 against him.

Radhamés Liz Closes the Rotation on Sunday

Right-hander Radhamés Liz (0-2, 1.76) will be in charge of pitching on Sunday, when the Tigres receive the Leones del Escogido at 5:00 p.m. at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium. This will be Liz’s fifth outing of the season, where the opposition bats .211 against her. In addition, Liz is tied for second on the team with 17 strikeouts in 15.1 innings.
