SANTO DOMINGO – The Tigres del Licey starred in an unforgettable night this Friday by defeating the Águilas Cibaeñas 10-5 at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium. This victory not only extends the feline’s winning streak to four games, but also marks a historic milestone: the 500th lifetime victory against their eternal rival in Dominican winter baseball. Driven by an effective offense and a dominant pitching staff, the Tigers set their mark at 13-16, while limiting the Eagles, tournament leaders, to only three hits in 17 opportunities with runners in scoring position.

Blue Offensive Leaves Its Mark on History

Mel Rojas Jr. led the attack with three RBIs. Gustavo Núñez and David Hensley contributed two RBIs each. Núñez also hit a key home run in the blue offensive rally. In total, Licey batted 5-11 with men in scoring position, backing up a pitching staff that struck out 13 yellow batters. The victory went to Anderson Severino (1-0), while Abdiel Mendoza (0-1) took the loss.

Combined and Effective Pitching
