The match, marked by a festive atmosphere, had Toni Kroos as its main figure, who wore the merengue shirt again after 378 days.The German midfielder, who played his last professional match at the Bernabéu on May 25, 2024, returned to the pitch as part of Real Madrid’s legends team. His reappearance generated great excitement among the fans, who gave him ovations from the warm-up.
Kroos, true to his style, maintained a discreet profile until the 36th minute, when his moment to shine arrived. With the score 1-2 in favor of Dortmund, after goals from Julio Baptista and Sven Bender and Lucas Barrios, a penalty in favor of Real Madrid gave him the opportunity to equalize. And he didn’t fail, scoring from the penalty spot for 2-2.
