The New York Knicks’ qualification for the NBA Finals has unleashed unprecedented demand in the ticket market, setting new price records in league history.
According to the specialized platform TickPick, the third game of the 2026 NBA Finals, which will be played at Madison Square Garden, has unprecedented resale prices. The most affordable tickets are around $3,500, while courtside seats exceed $100,000.
Even tickets for a possible sixth game in New York, where the championship could be decided, start at about $4,600.
The anticipation in the city is enormous, as the Knicks return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 and seek their first title since 1973, ending a drought of more than five decades.
The New York team is still waiting for an opponent, with the Western Conference final underway, where the Oklahoma City Thunder leads 3-2 over the San Antonio Spurs.
Meanwhile, prices at the Western venues are considerably more affordable. The cheapest tickets for Game 6 in San Antonio are selling from $185, and a possible Game 7 in Oklahoma City slightly exceeds $400.
The Knicks reach the Finals after an impressive postseason, accumulating 11 consecutive victories against Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Cleveland, and recording a point differential of +262 points.
TickPick noted that with just over $3,000, a fan could attend all seven complete games of the 2025 NBA Finals, a figure that is now not enough for a single ticket at Madison Square Garden during this 2026 edition.
