Knicks Steal Game 2 in Boston and Surprise with 2-0 Lead

The New York Knicks demonstrated their resilience by overcoming a 20-point deficit and defeating the Boston Celtics with a score of 91-90 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. This unexpected triumph gives them a 2-0 lead in the series.

Karl-Anthony Towns stood out with a double-double, accumulating 21 points and 17 rebounds. Josh Hart led the Knicks’ offense with 23 points. Mikal Bridges was crucial in the final quarter, scoring 14 points, including a vital steal that secured the victory for New York. Jalen Brunson also contributed with 17 points and the free throws that sealed the lead with 12.7 seconds remaining.

Even though Boston dominated a large part of the game and had a considerable lead, their offense faded in the final quarter, going more than eight minutes without scoring a single field goal. Jayson Tatum, limited to 13 points with a low shooting percentage, was contained by the Knicks’ defense.

Jaylen Brown and Derrick White each scored 20 points for the Celtics, who struggled with three-point shots, missing most of their attempts. Kristaps Porzingis returned as a substitute, contributing 8 points in 14 minutes.

With this victory, the Knicks are in a favorable position. Game 3 will be played this Saturday at Madison Square Garden, where New York will seek to extend their lead.
