Knicks Dominate 76ers in First Conference Semifinals Game

NEW YORK – The New York Knicks, led by a Jalen Brunson in a state of grace, achieved a resounding victory over the Philadelphia 76ers with a score of 137-98 in the first game of the Eastern Conference semi-final. Brunson, with a stellar performance, led the Knicks’ offense with 35 points. The point guard set the pace from the start of the game, setting the tone on a night where the home team dominated from start to finish at Madison Square Garden. Brunson’s influence was key from the first quarter, where he scored 14 points of his team’s 33. By halftime, he had already accumulated 27 units, recording one of the best first halves in recent playoffs for the franchise. The Knicks, who were more rested after their victory over Atlanta in the previous round, set a blistering pace, achieving 68% effectiveness in the first period. The Sixers, who were coming off a demanding series against Boston, could not respond to the locals’ impetus. In addition to Brunson, OG Anunoby contributed 18 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 in the victory. On the Sixers’ side, Joel Embiid scored 14 points in 25 minutes, while Tyrese Maxey added 13 and Paul George, 17. Faced with a large disadvantage, coach Nick Nurse decided to rest his key players in the third quarter.

“We have to focus on the next game. This goes back to zero,” Brunson said after the match, downplaying the large difference.
