Kelvin Cruz Oversees Remodeling of the Garibaldi Almonte Sports Complex in Cotuí

Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez. The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, made a supervisory visit to the Garibaldi Almonte multipurpose facility in Cotuí, where significant remodeling work is being carried out. Cruz was accompanied by the provincial governor, Cristina Rodríguez, and the municipal mayor, José Eugenio Montilla, during his tour of the facilities.

“The intention was always to do a first-class renovation that dignifies local sports,” stated Minister Cruz.

The minister highlighted the installation of a wooden court certified by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the NBA, valued at RD$7 million.

“Since we met with the sports leadership of Cotuí at the work table, we identified that the Garibaldi Almonte Sports Center was the facility that most urgently needed to be recovered for the municipality,” Cruz said.

Furthermore, Cruz emphasized that this space will not only be dedicated to sports activities, but also to community and cultural events, benefiting the entire population.

Both the governor and the mayor highlighted the importance of this initiative for the social and sports development of Cotuí, thanking the Ministry of Sports for its commitment to the community.

This intervention is part of the government’s efforts, through the Miderec, to improve sports infrastructures in the province of Sánchez Ramírez, promoting the inclusion and well-being of its inhabitants.
