President Luis Abinader has given the green light to the remodeling project of the William Gilbert sports complex in Tenares, marking a milestone in sports investment in the province of Hermanas Mirabal. The initiative, which exceeds 60 million pesos in total investment, is a clear reflection of the government’s commitment to national sports development. Certified maple wood flooring by FIBA will be installed, along with modern equipment for basketball and volleyball. In Tenares, the investment of RD$20,801,886.15 will focus on the Manuel Osiris Hidalgo sports complex, covering an area of 1,500 square meters. The improvements will include the renovation of the playing area, stands, bathrooms, changing rooms and outdoor areas, as well as the installation of synthetic surface for two playing areas and state-of-the-art sports equipment.
