Monsignor Nouel – The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, started the remodeling works of the Multipurpose Hall of Piedra Blanca this Wednesday. The investment for this important initiative amounts to RD$ 21,423,872.
The renovation of this sports infrastructure, which covers 1,507.37 square meters, is part of the sports facilities improvement plan promoted by the government of President Luis Abinader throughout the country.

Minister Cruz highlighted that the roofing, in a state of disrepair, will be completely renovated for the benefit of the local community.
Improvements include:
- Renovation of the playing area with professional backboards certified by FIBA.
- Installation of digital scoreboards and a 24-second clock.
- Installation of synthetic flooring for various sports disciplines.
- Remodeling of administrative offices, bathrooms, locker rooms, and cafeteria.
- Repair and maintenance of the metal structure and electrical system.
- Installation of aluzinc on the sports center roof.
Additionally, the project includes cement work with chain-link mesh, general painting, and the construction of a cistern.
In the ceremony, provincial authorities were present, including Governor Adela Tejada Gil, mayors Pedro Contreras Burgos and Eberto Núñez Núñez, and the Vice Minister of Sports Facilities, engineer Samuel Taveras. The event was blessed by the priest Silvano González.
