Kelvin Cruz Delivers Reconstructed Multipurpose Facility in San Pedro de Macorís

The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, led the delivery of a reconstructed multipurpose facility in San Pedro de Macorís, marking the 32nd project of his administration in different areas of the country. The investment for the remodeling of this sports facility amounted to 14 million pesos.

“I am proud to hand over this facility today to a province that, along with its municipalities, is a national sporting benchmark. I hope they use it and value it, because we are providing this community with an effective tool for the social cohesion of its people,” said Minister Cruz.

Cruz highlighted the importance of this work, which was demanded by the community of Ramón Santana for 23 years. He thanked President Luis Abinader, whom he defined as the main driver of sports development in the country. The inauguration ceremony was attended by civil and sports authorities from the province, including Senator Aracelis Villanueva, Governor Yovanis Baltazar, and Nelson Arroyo, executive vice president of Seguros BanReservas. Also present were the mayors of Ramón Santana and Hato Mayor, Santa Valdez and Amado de la Cruz, respectively, along with vice ministers of Sports and other personalities. Prior to the minister’s intervention, the words of the mayor, the governor, the senator, and Dr. Arroyo were heard. Mayor Valdez highlighted the importance of the work for local sports, while Governor Baltazar praised Minister Cruz’s management. Senator Villanueva highlighted the support received by the province, and Arroyo described Cruz’s management as historic. The blessing of the activity was given by Pastor Varis Jacobo.

Work Details

The multipurpose facility, built in an area of 2,100 square meters, includes a renovated play area, stands, offices, bathrooms, locker rooms for athletes, a cafeteria, and outdoor areas.

• The metal structure was repaired and maintained.
• Aluzinc was installed.
• Bleachers were built.
• Metal gutters and downspouts were installed.
• Offices and bathrooms were built.
• Chain-link fencing was installed.
• General painting was carried out.
• Panel supports were repaired.
• A cistern was built.
• The electrical network was installed.
